Membership

Local church membership is part of a Christian's accountability before God. New Testament Christians were members of local churches and added to it — both locally and globally — by baptism (Acts 2:41, 47; Acts 4:4). Members encourage and rebuke one another and may be held accountable through a biblically-defined process of discipline (Matthew 18:15-17). In rare cases discipline may conclude in a member's removal from church membership (1 Corinthians 5:4–7), but the goal of this extraordinary action is the member's eventual restoration to full membership and its encouragements (2 Corinthians 2:6-8).

SAPC receives into membership those who make a credible profession of faith in Jesus Christ as well as those who transfer from other churches or reaffirm their faith. It is not necessary for new members to subscribe to every one of our doctrinal beliefs, though this is a requirement of our officers. If you would like to become a member please talk to the pastor or an elder.
